Good Luck in the finals guys! You kicked our butts this year and deserve to move on. We'll lick our wounds and be back. I was going to call it a career, but something came up in the last day which made me change my mind, and God willing, the Lab will be back for one more run. I'd like to thank all my players and wish them a great off-season. Hopefully see you all next year on the field.
It is a sad day for my favorite team TV Lab as they should have been advancing in the playoffs after the game the other evening. However what it is, is what it is and life goes on. Its just a game recreation softball like it was 30 years ago when my old Bake Shop dominated this league.
What disturbs this senior citizen is the declining skills of my X favorite player Mr. Paul as the long ball has seemed to become part of every teams game when they play Mr. Paul. Now my X favorite team TV Lab, they are getting much older and will have a tough time next season specially moving up a division. Thus this Coffee man will now be rooting for his new favorite team J&J and his new favorite player Mr. base hitter.
Time to grab a Coffee as others want to use the computer and i must get off. Good luck to a class team J and J i will be down to watch the rest of the way.
At least you guys have a party and thanks for the invite after your last game. Looks like no party again this year for my X favorite team TV Lab.
Why don't we meet after work to discuss my declining skills? Who are you calling old, and what do you have against older people?
So glad you are rooting for another team. I'm sure their manager will just love to read your posts after every game.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Go Monkeys! HA!
(I STILL have no smilies)
Good morning all to another great week at the Sullivan center in beautiful Torrington. Everyone start your day off with a morning cup of Coffee even Mr. Paul my x favorite player who seems to be getting a little angry. Mr. Paul we all including myself go through that period when the skills decline. Myself it was at around 48 years of age that I had to give in. So please do not get angry its all part of growing old.
Mister Coffee-Ken...I am the mean orney grouchy old man, and I get meaner when an umpire makes the right call, and then changes his mind to the wrong call, and offers no explaination for his actions. I can accept a guy who makes a mistake and gives me his reason for the way he made a call, but to simply blow it off and move the game along is wrong...no matter what the score is at the time.
Glad to see you have switched over to J & J Nation...now you can harrass Mister Basehitter instead of me. HA!
J&J 21 TVLab 5

.......................GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look Bud...I was TRYING to be nice...I didn't say that call altered the game, and your team deserved to move on, but what that Ump did was totally wrong and then the plate ump moving the game along because they knew they blew it, just compounded the situation. Brian or Roger need to get these guys together and explain that we pay for a rightfully called game no matter what the score. I don't expect you guys to 'fess up' but anyone who saw it knows we got the short end of a lot of calls in that series. I just can't wait till next year when we go for round 3 with you guys. Good luck in the finals.
Go MONKEYS! HA!
Mister Leftout... From what I saw, your guy looked like he was 'dancing' with 'Nova as the 2 embraced....the ump makes the out call....'Nova then tries to step away to throw the ball to first and throws it away. Then, the next thing I know...there's no out call, and he now says "safe" and allows the circus to begin. Sorry, but as soon as you make the out call, that part of the play is OVER! The defensive team all saw and heard the out call. You can't put the Genie back in the bottle. If he called him safe initialy, I'm sure 'Nova would have chased your guy into left field to tag him...Besides, he was so far out of baseline, (another reason he was OUT), leftfield was just a step away. It's water over the dam, but the Ump never gave me any explaination other than to say, "the runner is safe". I never heard he didn't tag him...that seems a pretty ridiculous call considering the runner was "dead to rights" by a country mile.
I'm glad it didn't effect the outcome of the game, but that doesn't mean the Ump doesn't need to give me an explaination on why he made the call the way he did..ad then to just push the game along by calling 'ball1'...very disrespectful to the people who indirectly pay his wage.
The only regret I have is not pulling my team off the field like I started too, because when things get that ridiculous, those guys need to know.
It's always an adventure when we play J & J. Sorry we weren't more competitive in that last one, but you got to admit, there always seems to be a different twist. You have to be there to know what I'm talking about. 2 good teams, but you were the better one this season...no regrets saying that this year.
and I STILL have no smilie's icons Ken...what's up with that?
Plain and Simple the Umps turned that one play into a circus because they did not know the rules...It was the Infield Umps call and he obviously didnt know you cant tag a guy with the glove if the ball isnt in it....and he didnt know what consists of running out of the baseline...he called out.....then out again when the Homeplate ump asked him what his call was then called him safe after the homeplate ump went and discussed it with him....that guy was a deer in the headlights out there and should of just stuck with his original call.... then to make matters worse the homeplate ump got a attitude cause the ball wasnt pitched and called ball one......but the batter was standing near the on deck circle and no wheres near or in the batters box.....so real poor attitude and judgement by him that just made matters worse
With that said the game was over and out of reach at that point so it didnt change the games outcome at all...so theres no bad blood between J&J and TV Lab cause it had nothing to do with the teams.....BUT both those Umps need to study the rules over the winter cause there being paid good money by us players and Sponsors and should know the basic rules.......Id hate to see it happen in a Championship game with the game on the line...better hope it isnt your game
1 blown call at first doesn't equal the Geico Turning Point of the Series. HA!
I seem to remember "someone" 'crying' about ball and strike calls in game 1, BUT I must be mistaken because it couldn't have been you guys since you always 'get over it'. HA!
See you next year....by then I'll be all cried out. Say hello to Tom, your second baseman for me...he's a class act.
GO MONKEYS! HA!
Mr. Paul my x favorite player from my x favorite team TV Lab you are turning into an angry old man. As i have said before i went through the stage of diminishing skills and had to hang it up. You need to let this go and have a chilled Coffee and enjoy life, do not hold on to your anger.

I'd like to show you my diminishing skills and HANG you up!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
In our 1st playoff game against George's Paint this year, we had that same pair of umps

and had a call go our way at first then was changed by the wrong ump who wasn't even in position to see the play never mind change it.

The call eventually went against us and we GOT OVER IT!!!!!!!!

we didn't get on this site and start crying

about the umps and there calls! We're not pros and neither are the umps, so mistakes happen!!!!!!!! I guess the better teams just over come it!!!!!!

J&J 21 The Lab Boys 5 Season series-J&J 4 Lab 2!!!!!

Once again good luck MONKEYS see u guys @7:15 tonight!

Ya know your team as a whole are a bunch of classy guys, but this post here with you rubbing it in....... you are definitly not one of them........Not sure who its directed at but it looks like our whole team and if Im reading this wrong then I apologize...........If you read my prior post Theres no crying in there....maybe just a little venting towards the Umps...and nothing negative against your team at all
.....Maybe you can MOVE on and focus on your next game
We lost this series in game 2 when the triple was not called on paulie's catch. And both teams know it.J&J has decided not to take the high road on this and that is fine. Some of there players were taunting in game 3,running there mouths and were anything but class acts.Especially # 00.I have stayed away from this up until now but enough is enough. You guys should be more concerned on being the bride for a change rather than the bridesmaid.
The Finals are in Progress...
This is Old Fish and we know how that tastes! (YUCK)
Thread is Locked and not another word about this from anyone!!!!!!!
