Tonights game started off awesome. It was a good fight each inning. Then smack in the forth our pitcher, Cheryl was grounded by a line drive. Everyone had a helping hand. THANK YOU. Cheryl is near and dear to all of us and right now all my prayers are with her.
Cheryl
I am praying for you that you are going to be ok.
Our team is one big family and when one is hurt we all are.
I love you bud and I am saying a lot of prayers for you.
they hit the ball that hard in womens softball that she couldnt get her glove up??
Her right eye
that's awful. I hope she's alright. is she left handed or right handed?
R they using Painted Bats in the Womens league too ?
Hope she is ok !
Cheryl is right handed, and no she did not have time to react what so ever, YES we can hit the ball that hard Goldglove. Also remember we do not play with the arc and the pitcher is closer to the batter in womens softball, that remark was totally uncalled for.
Cheryl got 7 stitches above her eye, 3 fractured bones in her face and a broken nose. The ball hit her in the left eye area, a little further and it would have been her temple...THANK GOD she did not react and turn her head. She is going to see a surgeon tomorrow so PLEASE everyone say a prayer. She also has to see a eye specialist to be sure her eyesite is okay.
I wish her the best. So Sad to here thing like this happen. Thats why SAFETY always needs to be #1 . My Family send her our Best.
Uncalled for? it was a serious question. i wasnt degrading anyone just asking didnt know if it deflected off a rock or the pitching rubber.
No it was a solid line drive hard hit!!! Sorry Goldglove sounded like you were being a smart a**.
Thank you FSU
Cherly has to go in for reconstrutive surgery on Wednesday the 27th.

Towne Tavern: TEAM SURVIVOR
HOW DID CHERLY MAKE OUT WITH THE SURGERY?HOPE ALL IS WELL.SOFTBALL IS ABOUT HAVING FUN AND HAVING A FEW BEERS AFTER THE GAME.IT IS ALWAYS VERY UNFORTUNATE WHEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS.GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE WAY.
Cheryl had her surgery yesturday, took longer than expected because they found more fractured bones than originally thought. She went through the surgery well...was in A LOT of pain, Hartford Hospital kept her overnight. It will be quite a bit of a recovery for her, she did get to the eye specialist and before her surgery her eyesite was unaffected.
Thank you all for your caring and support.
Nikki & The rest of the team.........like our name says...we are THE SURVIVORS!!!!!!
