Well sports fans, it doesn't get any better than this; a one game showdown for all the E-Division marbles that will cap off the 2007 Torrington Softball season. It's time to find out if the age old adage that "good pitching always beats good hitting" is accurate. Tonight, the church-goers trot out Barry Tapley, who as a youngster played ball with Jesus himself, to face the coppers starter (help with a name here?!) in a battle of the top 2 pitchers in the E Division. FBC hopes to keep their bats red hot and avenge last year's loss to 5-O in the finals. The action gets under way at 6:00pm at Toro 1. See you there!!

In softball, good pitching can only LIMIT homeruns and walks...it does not stop good hitting in a big ball slo-pitch game. I know others may debate me on this, but I have proof. Last season, my players said it was all about the pitching when we got knocked out of the playoffs. Changing 10 fielders sent us from worst to first with the pitcher unchanged. It's all about good defense, good hitting, and good teamwork!
