Commerford- 35 Friendship/WLB- 10
Commerford jumped out to a 19-0 lead and seemed to be on their way before Friendship fought back with 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th to make it 23-10. Commerford then answered with a 12 spot in the top of the 6th to put an undermanned Friendship team away for good. Not a whole lot to say about this game besides the fact that it was LONG. Best of luck to Friendship the rest of the way, maybe we'll see you down the road in the playoffs.

What in the world were you thinking? Did you impress yourselves and each other with your awesome accomplishments against a Friendship team missing five starters and playing with two injured players and a half crippled old man? Do some of you recall pleading with me just two days before to find a way to field a team so the mighty commerford machine would not have to win by forfeit? Well, I did and will forever regret that decision because the team we faced, with the exception of a few was comepletely devoid of sportsmanship and character and should take no pride in what they accomplished. I'm sure they were an embarrassment to the few commerford team members who do exhibit class and sportsmanship, Russ, Tommy T, Coltin and a few others. You know what group you fall into so i'll leave it at that. Coltin, I have no douby about your character and your level of maturity is far above many of your players. They deserve each other. You and five or six others deserve more. When egos are so over-inflated that they dwarf traits like sportsmanship, characrer, integrity, and fair play, it's sad to say the least. I will say that I am very proud of the friendship team that took the field and endured a lopsided beating that should not have happened, and left the field with no complaints or excuses. They should not have had to. That's REAL character. Hopefully we will re-group, get healthy and finish the season and the play-offs in a competitive and up-beat spirit. Wish you the same. Listen, you're writing -- scratch that, CRYING on the forum about a loss. Move on like everyone else. We play to win, Like everyone else. You didnt mind crushing litchfield woods 21-4 did you. Im sure you went home sat behind your desk chair and smiled as you punched the keys. Didnt you. Commerford and sons is a softball team, like all the rest, we play to win. As for "gods gift to Torrington softball" I dont even know what that means, and I dont care. But you are creative, I'll give you that. Good luck the rest of the year. Hope to see you in the playoffs. |

It was in fact, not a good game in any way and to shake hands and pretend it was is a phony gesture and not one i am willing to make. I give the players that made an effort to do what was right (both sides) credit and respect and will extend my hand any time. Beyond that I have no comment. Good luck the rest of the way. RE: Commerford- 35 Friendship/WLB- 10
gonna chime in and say that if youre gonna call a team immature and unsportsmanlike after refusing to shake hands, it sounds like youre callin the kettle black....i obviously wasnt there to see what youre talking about but if you can praise half the team for playin the right way then i think that evens it out enough to shake hands and say good game and move on

Oh come on! What's a little trash-talking on the message board?
![]() I know I'd NEVER do anything like that ![]() but this board would be completely dead and void of any life without a little controversy. Nobody died...nobody got injured...nobody got sick....it's just a softball game. Deal with it. There's a LOT more important things in life, AND, as you get older, you'll realize that. RE: Commerford- 35 Friendship/WLB- 10
Well now that i'm back on from getting my one week ban, wow!!! crying after a loss is pretty terrible. Obviously Commerford and Sons is a heck of a team, but it doesn't mean they should take it easy on a team that is playing without 5 starters and 2 injured people. If ever you take a game lightly, before you know it you can be down 10 runs. Play the game like a man, and lose like a man! Coltin you're on next year! ha

I know I'd NEVER do anything like that
but this board would be completely dead and void of any life without a little
